THE PROJECT
The Granary is a substantial residential extension in the open countryside near Darlington. Carefully selected picture windows frame key views of the beautiful setting.
For this project it was essential as the architect to work closely with the planning authority to achieve a contemporary aesthetic that was sensitive to the rural area. We were successful in creating a design that unites both contemporary design with high performance sustainability.
We were keen to support our residential clients as their architect in their aspiration to self-build the project. We worked closely with the clients to further develop their understanding of the architectural design process involved and develop a drawing set that could be easily translated for a self-build projec
